These templates are planning guides. The app does not yet calculate exact CPU, powergrid, extractor head counts, route volumes, or launchpad fill times. That will come in the exact layout optimisation stage.

Extractor P1 Planet

Extract one raw P0 resource and process it into one P1 product on the same planet.

Recommended Buildings

  • 1 × Command Center
  • 1 × Launchpad
  • 1 × Extractor Control Unit
  • Extractor heads as power allows
  • Basic Industry Facilities as CPU/power allows
  • Optional: 1 × Storage Facility if routing buffer is needed

Best For

Reactive MetalsPrecious MetalsToxic MetalsChiral StructuresPlasmoidsOxygenWaterBiofuels

Notes

  • This is usually the best starter layout for extraction planets.
  • Use the best manually scored resource on the planet.
  • For 2-day cycles, reduce extractor heads if the planet cannot sustain the Basic Industry Facilities.
  • Route extractor output into Launchpad or Storage, then route to Basic Industry Facilities.
  • Route P1 output back into Launchpad.

Warnings

  • Do not overbuild factories if the extractor cannot feed them.
  • Extractor output changes depending on resource strength and depletion.
  • A planet with a high resource score should usually be reserved for extraction, not pure factory work.

P2 Factory Planet

Import two P1 inputs and process them into one P2 output using Advanced Industry Facilities.

Recommended Buildings

  • 1 × Command Center
  • 1 × Launchpad
  • Optional: 1 × Storage Facility
  • Advanced Industry Facilities as CPU/power allows

Best For

CoolantMechanical PartsConsumer ElectronicsEnriched UraniumRocket FuelConstruction BlocksMiniature ElectronicsSuperconductors

Notes

  • This layout works best when your extraction characters feed P1 into the factory planet.
  • Use Launchpad as the main import/export hub.
  • Storage can help if you want larger buffers between hauling cycles.
  • Factory planets do not need strong resources, so weak planets can still be useful.

Warnings

  • Factory planets need steady imports. If imports stop, profit stops.
  • Taxes matter heavily for P2 and above if exporting/importing through POCOs.
  • Do not waste your strongest extraction planet as a pure factory planet unless you have no alternative.

P3 / Advanced Factory Planet

Import P2 inputs and process them into advanced PI products using High-Tech or Advanced chains depending on the item.

Recommended Buildings

  • 1 × Command Center
  • 1 × Launchpad
  • 1 × Storage Facility recommended
  • Advanced Industry Facilities or High-Tech Production Plants depending on schematic
  • Extra Launchpad if volume requires it

Best For

RoboticsGuidance SystemsSmartfab UnitsSynthetic SynapsesUkomi SuperconductorsTranscranial MicrocontrollersBroadcast Node chain supportWetware Mainframe chain support

Notes

  • Use this once your P1/P2 supply chain is stable.
  • Advanced factory planets are usually better on low-value resource planets.
  • Separate extraction and advanced factory work unless the planet layout has a very specific reason.
  • Use saved drafts to track which characters feed which advanced chain.

Warnings

  • Higher-tier PI can look profitable but fail operationally if hauling volume or taxes are ignored.
  • Do not build advanced chains before confirming all required inputs are available.
  • The current optimiser does not yet calculate exact import/export volumes.

Hybrid Extraction + Factory Planet

Extract a local P0 resource while also running a small amount of factory work on the same planet.

Recommended Buildings

  • 1 × Command Center
  • 1 × Launchpad
  • 1 × Extractor Control Unit
  • Extractor heads as power allows
  • Basic Industry Facilities
  • Small number of Advanced Industry Facilities if power/CPU remains

Best For

Small character setupsTemporary starter plansPlanets with decent extraction and spare fitting capacityLow-maintenance setups where maximum profit is not the only objective

Notes

  • This can be useful early, but it is rarely the maximum-profit layout.
  • Good when you have limited characters or limited free planet slots.
  • Later, split extraction and factory work across dedicated planets.

Warnings

  • Hybrid layouts are easier to build but harder to optimise.
  • Factory throughput may be limited by extractor output.
  • You may need to rebuild later once the optimiser assigns dedicated roles.
